Hello London.

It is here.

I can't believe it!

I have only been here for 4 days and I am already in love.

My first weekend in London was amazing. Here is a little taste of what I did.

I got to the UK and all checked in on Friday. My family is still in town until Tuesday, so after I got all unpacked, I headed back out with them to do some site seeing. Later Friday night the girls and I went over to Boots (which is a main drugstore that you see everywhere here) to pick up some necessities and to become familiar with the area by the BYU center.

Saturday my roommates and I went to the tube station to pick up our oyster passes to begin our adventures for the day. We went to see the changing of the guards at Buckingham palace, went to Harrods, and ate some yummy Laduree macaroons on the steps of a London flat. It was perfect.

That evening I met up with my sister, mom, and grandma. We went to the Jubilee Market at Covent Gardens and I loved it! The square and streets were filled with little food stands that offered free tastings, and had people performing magic tricks, singing, and painting/drawing. It was so fun, and I will definitely be going back.

Sunday was a great day. All 35 girls and faculty took a 40 min walk to get to church. It was so hot (the hottest day of the year so far), but we walked through Hyde Park (which is right by the BYU center), so it went by pretty fast. Church was amazing. We went to the Hyde Park Ward, and the talks were so inspiring and uplifting. The ward was very diverse and I loved meeting and talking to the members.

Can't wait for another great week!

(Sorry for the lack of pictures lately. I forgot my camera cord and have been trying to find one. I will be posting them soon!)

Quick update.

Just got back from traveling for 2 weeks to Switzerland and France with the ladies! Words cannot explain how amazing this trip was. Things have been crazy with getting everything settled, but I will be posting pictures and stories soon!

Today is my first day in London and I am already loving every second. The girls are so darling and I am so excited for what lies ahead!

San Jorje 2010.

Last Thursday me, Rachel Robbins, Marissa Hicken, Emma Toolson, and Chelsea Brown decided that we were going to get out of Provo and go to St. George for memorial day weekend. The weather has been so weird and bad lately in Provo, so we all agreed it was time to see some sunshine.

We stayed in the LUXURY St. George Best Inn ($28 bucks a night-- pretty good, eh?), hiked Angels Landing in Zions Park, ate lots of Cafe Rio, went to church and saw the St. George temple (which was gorgeous), played some card games, and relaxed by the pool. It was by far one of the greatest trips ever and I cannot wait to go back for the San Jorje girls trip 2011.

I hope everyone had a safe and sunny memorial day!

And the countdown begins...

In 10 days, I will be here:

For the next 2 months, I will be living in London for a study abroad! I will be studying humanities with 30 girls and 1 boy (poor kid) and I am so excited! A week before I start the program I will be traveling around Europe with my grandman, mom, and sister. We have always talked about taking a girls trip somewhere, so I am thrilled they are coming!

For those of you who already don't know, I have a huge love for traveling and people. I love to learn about different cultures and to interact with people-- find out their story and who they are. I love to site see and explore places that have so much history. All growing up, I woke up to my mom blasting the soundtrack of Fiddler on the Roof or to her playing classical masterpieces on the piano. Her love for music and the arts quickly became a huge interest of mine, and has stuck ever since. I cannot wait to be living in Europe where I will be exposed to some of the greatest masterpieces in art, music, and theater of all time. It amazes me how huge the world is and how much there is to learn, so I am so grateful for this experience!
Cheers to a great summer.
